Night....a forgotten story in the phenomenon of wine. Ex Nihilo Night was created in honor of the mysterious balance the night brings to our vineyards. The cool night air off the Mountain Range and Lakes lowers the vineyard temperature just enough to slow down the ripening process to develop richer fruit with more complexity.
Grapes grown on the Black Sage bench were selected to create this elegant blend of 47% Cabernet Sauvignon, 41% Merlot and 12% Cabernet Franc. This Bordeaux style wine spent 19 months in French oak. Rich with characteristics of dark berries, figs, ripe plums and sweet spices. This is a big structured wine with firm tannins and balanced acidity. Decant and enjoy now or cellar up to 2030.
The grapes were handpicked exclusively from the Black Sage Bench in October of 2014. Fermented in stainless tanks, the 2014 Night was aged for 19 months, 80% in French Oak barrels and 20% in American Oak barrels. A careful hand was used in blending the individual varietals to achieve a wine with distinction and finesse.
