2016 Merlot
Fruit is grown on the Black Sage Bench in Oliver, aged for 20 months in French and American oak. With less than 10% new oak, the neutral barrels allowed the tannins to soften gracefully while minimally influencing the flavour and keeping this wine fruit forward.

Tasting Notes
Our 2016 vintage is a Merlot of true elegance. Bold yet luscious. Perfectly ripe fruit from our Black Sage Bench Vineyards. Aged 20 months in French and American oak barrels. The result is a wine with a supple balance, soft tannins, and an enticing finish.
Winemaker Notes
Merlot grapes were hand harvested from the Black Sage Bench in October.
The grapes were sorted and destemmed before fermenting on skins for 14 days. Upon pressing, the Merlot was transferred to barrel to undergo malolactic fermentation naturally over the winter months.
This wine was aged for 20 months before selecting truly remarkable barrels to be included in our single varietal Merlot.
